Patrick Curran: A long strange trip

Almost two years ago now, in April 2009, Oracle announced its intention to acquire Sun Microsystems for $7.4 billion. Little did we know at the time that the deal would not close until January 2010 due to lengthy anti-trust investigations by the US Department of Justice and the European Commission. (Both bodies eventually gave their approval.)
