Mark Wielaard: New GPG key.
Finally created a new GPG key using gnupg. The old one was a DSA/1024 bits one and 8 years old. The new one is a RSA/2048 bits one. I will use the new one in the future to sign any release tarballs I might create. pub 2048R/57816A6A 2011-01-29 Key f...

Coding Dojo in Wellington next week
We will be running the next Wellington Coding Dojo on February 2, 2010 - thanks again to the Wellington Java Users Group for helping to organize this session. The session will be held at Equinox (Equinox house, 111 The Terrace, Wellington) at 5:15.
The interesting thing about these Coding Dojos is that they are not necessarily done on simple, abstract programming problems - we generally work with real (well, sort of ;-) ) working applications. The idea is to get a feel for TDD practices in a real-world situation, where it is useful to build a solution incrementally, rather than the more academic problems often used in coding dojo katas. Not that we don't do the simpler, more focused approach - we just haven't done it that way yet ;-).
The last session was a lot of fun, so come along. One lucky participant will win a copy of "Growing Object-Oriented Software, Guided by Tests", by Steve Freeman and Nat Price!
A Coding Dojo is a place where programmers come to improve their skills, by following a pattern similar to the martial arts dojo.
Participants meet a a prearranged time in a room that has one computer attached to a screen. A programming challenge is posed for each session. During the session, the group spends a preset amount of time developing a solution to the challenge. At the end of the session the code is discarded (though it may be archived for future reference and study). The amount of time spent on th...
